One day in October 2019, respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un visited the construction site of the then Samjiyon County. What he valued most while looking round different places of the county that day was the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance being displayed throughout the construction site. He told the accompanying officials that the course of building the Samjiyon area was an eye-opening course in which the vitality of the Korean-style self-reliance that nothing is impossible when we rise up in firm unity with confidence in our own strength was clearly proved once again and a precious revolutionary asset to be proudly recorded in the history of the Workers’ Party of Korea and handed down forever. Feasting his eyes on the panoramic view of the county taking on beautiful appearance, he noted that we should neither expect other's help nor lend an ear to any temptation, but fix the road of achieving prosperity by our own efforts as the immutable course of development and keep holding higher the banner of self-reliance as we do now.
